Independence Day Celebration

Date: August 18, 2025 Place: Kanajar
The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor and enthusiasm at Lourdes English Medium School and Kanajar Souhard Bhavan. The event highlighted the school's commitment to instilling a deep sense of national pride and unity in its students.

Various fun-filled activities, speech, song and craftwork helped the children identify the colour and understand its significance. The day ended on a happy note with smiles and laughter as our little ones proudly embraced the colour of love, care, and kindness. 💗

Morning Ceremony: Lourdes English Medium School

The celebration began with a solemn ceremony attended by several esteemed dignitaries, including
Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira, Joint Secretary of the school, and chief guests Rev. Fr. Alwyn Sequeira and Mr. Stany Saldanha. Other notable attendees included Mrs. Anita Quadros, Mrs. Mable Nazareth, and Mrs. Amreen, along with Principal Mrs. Jasmine Pinto.

  • Welcome and Flag Hoisting:
    Principal Mrs. Jasmine Pinto opened the ceremony with a welcoming address that underscored the significance of the day. The school choir then led a rendition of the National Song. The highlight of the morning was the flag hoisting ceremony, conducted by Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira. As the tricolor flag was raised, students and staff sang the National Anthem and Dwaja Geeta, paying tribute to the nation.
  • Addresses and Speeches:
    The program featured several inspiring addresses. Master Aaron Menezes of Grade 10 shared his reflections on Independence Day, followed by an address from Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Alwyn Sequeira, who spoke on the importance of unity, courage, and responsibility. Josni
  • A student of Grade 8 presented patriotic slogans, and Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira, in his presidential address, emphasized the importance of knowledge and values for the younger generation. The formal ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Vinaya.

  • Cultural Program: Kanajar Souhard Bhavan

    The celebrations continued at Kanajar Souhard Bhavan with a vibrant cultural program that showcased the diverse talents of the students.

  • Performances:
    The event featured a variety of acts, including a delightful patriotic dance and an action song by kindergarten students. Students in Grades 1 to 3 performed a Fancy Dress with Dialogue, portraying national heroes, while students in Grades 4 and 5 presented a powerful patriotic dance based on the Sindoor Operation Theme.
  • Prize Distribution:
    Throughout the program, prizes were distributed to high-achieving students. Mrs. Amreen, the PTA President, awarded prizes to students from LKG to Grade 2. Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira later presented prizes to students from Grades 3 to 6, recognizing their academic and extracurricular achievements.
