The Inauguration Ceremony of the Bunnies, Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, and Guides units of Lourdes English Medium School, Kanajar was held on Tuesday, 5th August 2025 in the school auditorium with great enthusiasm and pride.
The programme commenced with the arrival and escorting of dignitaries. The event was graced by the presence of:

Mr. Sachidananda Prabhu, President, Neere – Kanajar Gram Panchayat (Chief Guest)

Mr. Stany Saldanha, Vice President, PPC, Our Lady of Lourdes Church

The ceremony began with a prayer song, seeking divine blessings, followed by a vibrant welcome dance by students. A warm welcome was extended by Mrs. Sulochana, Guide Captain, in the Welcome Address, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and participants. A short informative session introduced the gathering to the objectives and structure of the Bunnies, Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, and Guides units, explaining how these units build character, discipline, leadership, and service. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing knowledge, positivity, and new beginnings. The audience then joined in singing the Flag Song with patriotic zeal, reinforcing unity and commitment. A major highlight of the event was the scarf distribution ceremony, where students were formally inducted into their respective units. This was followed by the Oath Taking Ceremony, where the newly enrolled members pledged to uphold the values of the Scouts and Guides movement.
The function was enriched with motivational speeches from:
Mr. Sachidananda Prabhu, who emphasized the importance of service and leadership among youth.
Mr. Umesh Nayak, who encouraged students to be active participants in nation-building through such platforms.
Mrs. Jyothi J. Pai, who appreciated the school’s initiative in nurturing young citizens with values and discipline.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Harold Pereira, who applauded the school community’s efforts and encouraged students to always live by the Scouts’ and Guides’ motto: “Be Prepared” and “Do Your Best.” The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs. Vikitha, Captain of Bulbuls, who expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, management, staff, and students for their support and active participation. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, filling the auditorium with a sense of pride and unity.
